
Playing in Premier Division against mostly varsity programs, South Carolina finished 1-4 in the Ruck the Rock 7s Tournament in Rock Hill Saturday.
The Gamecocks dropped two games against Queens (24-12 and 36-5), Belmont Abbey (29-0) and Clemson (17-14 on the final play of the game0. USC defeated Rio Grande, a varsity team from Ohio, 19-12. Pat Emch and Charlie Feehan led USC in scoring. Eash scored three trys.
Back in Columbia, the Gamecock 15s team defeated UNC 81-0. The Gamecocks dominated every phase of the contest from the opening whistle. Freshman lock Tommy Darlington paced the Gamecocks with three trys. Will Mahaffey, Tom Brady and Alec Early scored two trys each.
Both teams are on the road this weekend. The 7s team will be at Virginia Tech for the Sandman 7s tournament. And the 15s team will take on N.C. State.
