To help foster internship and career mentoring opportunities, The Carolina Rugby Foundation and the Men’s Rugby Club have launched a LinkedIn page.
The club and foundation invite our alumni parents and players to follow the site. Carolina Rugby Foundation Chairman Danny Johnson began working with team members to develop the page a month ago. It currently has 63 followers.
“When I joined the board this summer, one of my top priorities was to explore ways to develop professional and mentoring opportunities for our players by connecting them to alumni and past and present rugby parents,” said Johnson.
The club and foundation encourage our rugby family to post job and internship opportunities on the LinkedIn page.
“Rugby is a sport that binds us together,” says Johnson. “We want to harness this connectivity to advance professional opportunities for young people. The page is also another platform for our rugby family to connect with one other.”
Since 2021, the Foundation has worked to professionalize communications and outreach by developing top-shelf events, improving our social media platforms and launching a contemporary and frequently updated website.
“This LinkedIn effort has excited and energized our team,” said club President Grant Ruhlen. “We have more than 60 young men on the team. All have a variety of career interests and want to network and connect with those in their field.”
